Mental health has always been a concern in the workplace, but Covid-19 has escalated the concerns that employees may be struggling with their mental health in isolation. According to the Mental Health Commission of Canada, mental illness costs Canadian employers approximately $20 billion annually and is becoming the most pressing issue, due to significant impact on disability, absenteeism and lost productivity.

Covid-19 has exposed our lack of accessibility and serious barriers to mental health resources. As an organization you have the duty of care to equip yourself with:

  • A strategic approach to manage employee mental well-being
  • Targeted mental health intervention
  • Cost management of mental illness
  • Enabling employees to access the care they need

Judith Plotkin, Vice President, Health Solutions for People Corporation will present on resilience in the era of Covid. Ms Plotkin will be introduced by Darby Smith, Benefits Consultant, People Corporation.
